Award-winning photographer and designer, Marion Rapp knew from a very early age that imagination played an essential role in her everyday life. Whether it was playing piano or writing poetry, there was a constant yearning to discover and express.
"I was born into a creative and artistic family – my mother is an award-winning painter, my father was a harmonicist, and my eldest brother is an accomplished musician. We were constantly participating in some sort of creative activity, individually or collectively.”
Ms. Rapp always had a fondness for design and music, but found herself gravitating toward photography. Inspired by the birth of her daughter and son in the early 80’s, she began pursuing photography as a hobby, photographing her children, and nature. “My first camera, the Pentax K1000, became the catalyst for my passion and that’s when I developed a true understanding and appreciation for the art of photography, gravitating toward black and white.”
A 28-year MTS employee, Ms. Rapp works in the Marketing Department as the in-house Graphic Designer and Photographer. “It’s rewarding coming to work and doing what I love – I can’t imagine doing anything else. Redundancy doesn’t exist in my line of work, or my life, every day brings a new challenge.”
