History
What started as a small business that produced steel chair and table legs in Temperance, Michigan, grew to become much more. By the early 1960s, finished chair and table frames were among the products available for purchase soon followed by a line of completely assembled chairs. By the early 1970s, upholstery was brought in-house and MTS Seating was officially born.
The MTS Seating headquarters are located in Temperance, Mich., with over 300,000 square feet of state-of-the-art manufacturing space spread across three facilities. For almost 60 years, MTS has dedicated itself to becoming the global leader in seating solutions – currently shipping to over 20 different countries worldwide.

Engineering
MTS products are designed to provide optimum comfort and durability. It’s part of our commitment to continual improvement in everything we do. We understand form and function, and our in-house engineering department allows us to prototype samples and manufacture custom orders in relatively short timeframes.
Design
MTS is committed to design innovation. Our collaboration with world-renowned furniture designers continually pushes the design envelope. Whether it’s the reinterpretation of period style or the pioneering of a totally new look, we’re committed to making a powerful style statement with our products. We work with our customers to make their design vision a reality.
MTS offers smart and stylish solutions for every mood and setting. From banquet room to guest room, convention center to four-star restaurant, bistro to bar, our broad range of products has it covered. Styles range from metro to retro, Euro to traditional and everything in between. We offer a wide assortment of beautiful and durable fabrics in an array of colors, styles, surfaces and finishes.
SynerGreen®
MTS Seating is sensitive to the impact of our manufacturing on the world around us. It is because of the sensitivity that we created the SynerGreen® philosophy. We are continuously making improvements to our products and processes to reduce their negative impact on the environment. We employ aggressive recycling programs and pollution-prevention initiatives while partnering with suppliers who share our vision – all to ensure we have a positive impact on the planet and our customers.
UL GREENGUARD
In 2008, MTS became the first hospitality seating manufacturer to earn the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification for its entire line of seating. In fact, the MTS Premium Comfort Omega II Banquet Stacking Chair contains nearly 30 percent recycled content by weight, which can contribute to LEED credits.
MindClick Global
In 2014, MTS partnered with the MindClick Global Hospitality Sustainability Performance Index (HSP Index). The HSP Index measures the sustainability performance of suppliers and their products. This rating system gives hoteliers, and their purchasers and specifiers, a comparative measure indicating the level at which suppliers are operating with regard to socially and environmentally responsible practices.
