GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification

In September 2008, MTS started on the path to low-emitting products by certifying all of our stack, banquet, and restaurant seating.

In October 2009, we went one step further.

MTS Seating is proud to announce that our entire line of seating products is now GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified. You can rest assured that no matter which of our quality seating products you choose, it will not contribute to indoor air pollution.

GREENGUARD certification is an internationally recognized product emissions certification and label for manufacturers of low emitting indoor materials, furnishings and processes.  Products undergo rigorous third party testing to determine their impact on indoor air quality, with requirements for ongoing testing and verification.  

One of the most effective ways to battle indoor air pollution is to reduce it at the source. By using low-emitting GREENGUARD Certified products and materials, one can lower the amount of indoor air pollutants to a fraction of the current levels.  

GREENGUARD Certified products are recognized and recommended by leading sustainable building programs, including:

• US Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED Rating System
• National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Green Building Guidelines
• Green Guide for Health Care
• Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS)
• New York City Department of Design and Construction Sustainable Design Specifications, and other local green building programs.

November 2009 - MTS Seating was recognized by Consumers Energy of Michigan for our purchase of renewable energy.  As one of the top 10 largest participants in the program, MTS utilizes over a half a million kilowatt-hours of renewable energy per year.  This equals nearly 20 percent of the company’s total annual consumption.

December 2009
MTS enrolled in the Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership, committing to continue the use of renewable energy in our operations and reduce our ecological footprint.  

Special Recognition  
In December 2008, MTS received recognition from Senator Randy Richardville (Michigan, 17th District) for our GREENGUARD Certification and the efforts we have made to improve our environmental footprint.
