OUR PHILOSOPHY

MTS Seating is sensitive to the impact of our manufacturing on the world around us. That’s why we developed and adopted the SynerGreen® philosophy to make continuous environmental improvements in our processes and products, while practicing sound business principals to focus on satisfying customer needs. MTS employs aggressive recycling programs and pollution-prevention initiatives, and we partner with suppliers who share our vision for environmental responsibility. Our goal is not just to be “less bad,” but to have a positive impact on the planet.

MTS makes every effort to incorporate recycled materials in the manufacturing of our seating products. Today, approximately 50-60% of each chair is made from recycled material, and we are continuously working to improve that percentage. Plus, if LEED certification is your goal, the recycled content of our chairs can help you earn credits. On the flip side, an average of 84% of these materials can be easily recycled at the end of the chair’s use; that amount is even higher if more advanced recycling processes are used. From design to disposal, MTS is doing our part to ensure the sustainability of our resources and environment.

We are proud to be in 100% compliance with the VOC emission requirements and Annual Wastewater Reporting to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, and we are working to move beyond mere compliance. Our current energy conservation efforts have been recognized by Impact Energy Management of Ann Arbor, MI. Through these and other SynerGreen® efforts, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint in every way possible.
